Two 22,000 Nm³/h two-stage hydrogen reciprocating compressors are the scope; the first candidate is a Zigong machine builder.

The project

The Zhangye carbon-neutral industrial base wind-solar-hydrogen-storage integrated project is in the circular-economy demonstration park of the Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone, Gansu. It is described as the first green-electricity-to-hydrogen project the National Energy Investment Group has placed in Gansu (1).

The project is to build a 22,000 Nm³/h alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production system, four 1,000 m³ hydrogen sphere tanks at 3.0 MPa, and the supporting utilities. It also includes a 2,000 Nm³/h electrolysis pilot and verification platform: a 1,000 Nm³/h alkaline system, a 500 Nm³/h proton-exchange-membrane system, and a 20 MPa hydrogen storage system with 800 Nm³ of effective storage capacity (1).
